A minority of people in the Death Penaly Study agreed with the vicarious sadism belief system. Most popular was the opinion that 'I enjoy news about executions including last meal, final words, and any glitches,' with 40% of the people in the sample agreeing with that opinion. About a quarter of the people in the study endorsed public executions before large crowds and live televised executions.
